Trivandrum is the capital of 'God's own country', Kerala. Thiruvananthpuram or Trivandrum as it was formerly called is one of the most important cities of India. It is home to some of the very important academic institutes of India. Trivandrum is located on the west coast of India and has Arabian Sea on one side and Tamil Nadu on the other side. The city is known for its undulating landscape of low coastal hills with narrow meandering lanes.

The Aaranmula Boat Race is another important event held every year in the village of Aaranmula in the month of August or September. The enchanting backwaters of Trivandrum are a must see for the tourists. A boat-ride in the beautiful backwaters of Trivandrum would allow one to absorb the beauty of lines of coconut palm trees, beautiful landscapes and the greenery of Trivandrum.
Due to its tropical climate the city does not witness any distinct seasons. The maximum and minimum temperature fluctuates within 21 C-34 C. The best time to visit Trivandrum is between September to May as the monsoons are really heavy here which restricts lot of activities here.
